Love Love Me
I have been a fan of Curtis Kulig’s LOVE ME tag for as long as I can remember seeing it on the streets of NYC. It’s the same two little words but they are fraught with such emotion calling out over city streets and views, I can remember walking down the street feeling blue and seeing Love Me on the side of a mailbox and just feeling not so alone. Someone else out there wants to be loved too.
Yeah, I am a sucker for romance.
Just as much as I am a sucker for jewelry.
The Me+Mi collaboration is right up my graffiti strewn alley. Like myself, Jewelry designer, Mimi Jakobson hails from Venice Beach, a place that is covered in street art. I like to attribute my obsession with graffiti not to my 80’s hip-hop history but further back to the childhood experience of making up stories for all the murals I would pass on the boardwalk in Venice. I am imagining that she probably has a similar connection.
Because sometimes you need to wear your heart on your neck, wrist, fingers and ears rather than your sleeve to get the sentiment across.
